TwilightGuys Report: Finally Convinced To Read Twilight

FINALLY CONVINCED TO READ TWILIGHT

One day a few months ago, my sister came downstairs from being shut up in her room for hours, reading. This was (is, and always will be) typical behaviour for her, as is spouting details from whatever book she happens to be reading. It is also MY typical behaviour to tell her how dumb every single book she reads is. She’s very into fantasy, whereas I am more into horror.

So she walks downstairs and starts blabbing to my mom (who was making dinner) about how she just got to Carlisle’s part, and WOW, was he awesome. So, of course, my automatic response was, “Carlisle is dumb.” She glared at me, and said, “You have NOTHING on Carlisle, let alone EDWARD.” And she sighed and stared into space.

I rolled my eyes and said, “I’m pretty sure I’m a hundred times better than EDWARD, whoever that is.”

After her hysterics had subsided, and she had gotten her breathing back to normal, she shook her head and told me,

“Trust me, if you were just as wonderful-perfect-caring-loving-awesome-magnificent-NOTTOMENTIONHOT! as Edward, you could get just about any girl on the face of the planet.”

Well, that piqued my interest. My sister didn’t usually fall in love with guys from books. She might say how awesome they were, but not like this. At the time, I just rolled my eyes and walked away. But my curiousity grew, and as she finished New Moon, and then Eclipse, I wanted to read them more and more. So I finally asked her if I could.

At first, she was suspicious. Why would I suddenly want to read a book that I spent HOURS insulting? It didn’t take her long to figure out the whole learn-the-tricks-from-Edward thing, but she did lend it to me. I have now finished New Moon and am halfway through Eclipse and LOVE them–and not for the info on how to get a girl. I really do think the Twilight series is amazing.”
