The LA Times the other day paraphrased Stephenie’s statement and reported “…author Stephenie Meyer tells her readers she has decided to discontinue “Midnight Sun…” now granted later on in the article they go on to quote Stephenie several times including her statement, “and so it is on hold indefinitely”.

Unfortunately any number of readers and news outlets picked up “decided to discontinue” and didn’t pick up on the fact that Stephenie actually said “hold indefinitely” (in our opinion a slight but important variation in terms). They are now asking for follow up opinions now that people have had time to digest the news.
