BOP Magazine: Long Vampire Hair?

Donna in Manila has shared with Pattinson Online her scans from the February 2009 issue of BOP magazine, including a poster of Robert Pattinson and brief interview. Considering all the buzz about Rob’s hair, it is funny to hear that there were initial thoughts for the Edward character to have “long vampire hair.”

It’s hard being Edward!

Robert Pattinson tells BOP how transforming into a movie vampire isn’t easy!

With his gold eyes and pale skin, Robert Pattinson totally looked the part of a dreamy vampire. But behind the scenes, he had a tough time turning into the perfect Edward Cullen.

“It was so frustrating!”

On the Twilight set, Rob had no idea what to expect when it came to hair and makeup. “I was shocked by it,” he admits. “Initially they wanted me to wear really long vampire hair, down to my waist. I wasn’t allowing that to happen!” Rob also struggled wearing contact lenses. “I can’t wear contacts,” he cringes. “It took me 20 minutes to get them in every morning.” Luckily for us, the final result was a superhot Edward!

“I’m terrible at baseball!”

Onscreen, Edward has a blast playing baseball with the Cullens. In real life, Rob admits it was superhard. “I’m really not a very sporty person,” he laughs. Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen, shares, “Rob was kind of a trip. He’s cute, but he’s definitely not the most athletic of the bunch!” After a tons of practice, Rob managed to look like a pro in the movie and convinced us that he was totally meant to be Edward!

“I read all the Twilight books in one weekend!”

Personal details:

  • Rob was nervous about kissing Kristen Stewart. “It’s terrifying,” he reveals.
  • Rob is British but said he liked using his American accent in twilight!
  • Rob sings “Never Think” on the Twilight soundtrack.
