Cathrine Hardwicke To Recieve Director’s Reward

The Hollywood Reporter says that Cathrine Hardwick will be receiving the Dorothy Arzner Directors Award at the 2009 Crystal + Lucy Awards.

Jennifer Aniston, Holly Hunter, Elizabeth Banks, Catherine Hardwicke and cinematographer Petra Korner will be honored at the 2009 Crystal + Lucy Awards, set for June 12 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Century City.

Hardwicke, who most recently directed the hit “Twilight,” will be recognized with the Dorothy Arzner Directors Award. Her films also include “Thirteen,” “Nativity Story” and “Lords Of Dogtown.” Hardwicke recently signed on to direct the film adaptation of the young-adult novel “If I Stay” for Summit as well as the adaptation of James Patterson’s “Maximum Ride” for Columbia.

“Women in Film is thrilled to honor these extraordinarily versatile women who truly represent the new paradigm of Hollywood,” WIF/LA president Jane Fleming said. “Each of them has succeeded wildly by having the courage to work in all areas of the entertainment industry, transitioning between film and television, comedy and drama, studio and independent projects, both in front of and behind the camera.”
