With that in mind, we present this handy guide to five key actresses joining the “Twilight
” saga for its third installment. Much like Bella, we can all look forward to making new friends in Forks, and tomorrow we’ll take a look at the new “Eclipse
” men. But to be courteous, here are the ladies first.
Actor: Catalina Sandino Moreno
Character: Maria
The Lowdown: Fan-favorite Jackson Rathbone has already expressed excitement over the fact that his role as Jasper Hale will be expanded greatly for the third “Twilight” film. Oscar-nominee Moreno may no longer be “Full of Grace,” but will now play a very different Maria. Described in Stephenie Meyer’s pages as being petite with a soft voice, Maria is the woman who turned Jasper into a bloodthirsty immortal when he was 20 years old in 1863. Her inclusion will play a major role in the young vampire threat that emerges throughout “Eclipse” and the likely-to-film-someday “Breaking Dawn.”
