The film is set in 1890s Paris and sees the Twilight star take the lead role playing Georges Duroy.

Opposite the Brit heartthrob are three A-list actresses- Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci.

Bel Ami is bound to please female fans of R-Patz as according to the studio it’s an “erotically charged story of ambition, power and seduction.”

The movie has received funding from American Idol founder and former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller.

Pattinson will next be seen in Remember Me and the third Twilight movie Eclipse.
