Reading Eclipse: Chapter 15 (Wager)

The song for this chapter is Hysteria by Muse

Finally — my glorious two-week break is complete, which means back to work, back to writing, and back to the next chapter in Eclipse! I will admit my break was quite a joyful one (besides the being-sick half the time part) but it’s always a welcome time to get back to a schedule and start again with the new year. On to Chapter the 15th!

In the previous chapter, Jacob just informed Bella of the fact that he is in love with her, which did not cause much of a reaction in me besides a hiccup (I attribute this more to eating my snack too fast instead of surprise). The fact is that I knew, as well as Bella, and everyone who has read this far, that Jacob is madly in love with her, and would greatly welcome a runaway train flattening every shiny silver Volvo in the surrounding 500 miles of Forks. Twilight Saga News

Last week Stephenie Meyer came up as number 2 on the list of the 10 Most Facsinating People in Publishing. This week the number one slot was announced, and it’s Stephenie’s agent, Jodi Reamer. Jodi’s clients include authors such as Carolyn Mackler, John Green, Barbara Kerley, Michelle Knudsen, Lisa Yee, and Bruce Campbell to name a few. Here’s a rare interview with Jodi.

Many of you have been asking about the The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide. Despite a couple of sites listing sale dates, there is no confirmed sale date according to Stephenie’s publicist. This statement appeared on the official Twilight saga site a couple of months ago:

The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, which was scheduled to release on December 30th, is being moved to 2009. A new on-sale date will be announced as soon as possible. As the only official guide about the Twilight Saga, we want to make this edition as special as possible. We are including more of the exclusive material that you all have been asking for over the past several months, which will require additional time. “

No surprise to tween girls or their parents, the best-selling book was “Breaking Dawn,” also known as the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga.

AND the New York Times has an article with interesting Amazon facts including:

… it [Amazon] sold enough “Breaking Dawn” books that, if stacked end to end, they would reach the summit of Mount Everest eight times

Reading Eclipse: Chapter 14 (Declaration)

The song for this chapter is When We Die by Bowling For Soup [suggested by Rita]

Ahh yes: the chilling coldness of winter has set upon the great city of Dallas once again. It feels so odd: I remember when it was this time last year, and the ground outside was covered in snow, and my joy at actually seeing snow in Texas made all my northernly friends laugh out loud, since they see it every year. Still, I can’t help but feel a bit of Christmas cheer over my tiny apartment, just as I can’t help but feel a tiny bit of guilt for running the heater at the world’s most comfortable temperature 24/7…because in this apartment, we don’t pay electric bills. Muhahaha. [Read more]
