This is really a review, but I just compiled a short list of some of the praise that Stephenie has received for this very eventful and exciting year.
Since 2008 is almost over, I thought I would take a minute to congratulate Stephenie on a successful year. A lot of very exciting things have happened this year, and it has been fun for those of us who are fans of the writing to follow along.
Several major media outlets have also noted the success, and (as long as I am posting something that Stephenie probably wouldn’t approve of) I thought I would post a few of the links for those of you who haven’t heard about the recognition and praise that she has received for the year of 2008…

We’ve all been wondering, with all the news about New Moon flying around, what does Stephenie herself think? She addresses the fans on stepheniemeyer.com
Hey guys,
There’s been a lot of worry and speculation on the boards lately, and I want to let you know what’s going on.
First of all, like you, I’m sad that Catherine is not continuing on with us for New Moon. I’m going to miss her, not just as a brilliant director, but also as a friend. She has such a distinct, authentic voice that did amazing things for Twilight. I’m looking forward to every movie she does in the future.
And she didn’t leave us empty handed. We still get the benefits of her amazing casting and the beautiful visual world she created. This foundation puts us in a good place for New Moon.
Summit Films is moving forward with a new director for New Moon. They’ve asked Chris Weitz, director of American Pie, About a Boy, and The Golden Compass, to join us, and I am very pleased to announce that he’s agreed to be a part of our Twilight world. I’ve had the chance to talk to Chris, and I can tell you that he is excited by the story and eager to keep the movie as close to the book as possible. He is also very aware of you, the fans, and wants to keep you all extremely happy. (Torches and pitchforks are not going to be necessary.)
I’m excited to work with Chris and I think he brings a lot to the table, not the least of which for me is that he wrote the screenplay for and directed one of my favorite movies of all time, About a Boy. I’m really looking forward to seeing his vision for New Moon.

On the movie page there is a link to the press release which came out on Summit’s website today about the movie for New Moon. Also, the Twilight Collector’s Edition
is now being sold, just FYI.
Although we originally announced it several months ago, it just went on-sale earlier this week and is currently shipping from Amazon.com (link above). Please note that it is still Twilight—nothing has been changed in the story from the original book. But, it is a very nice copy of the book that could make a great gift. Here is the description from the publishing company: “Featuring a ribbon bookmark, cloth cover, ragged edges, new chapter opener designs, and a beautiful protective slipcase, this edition is perfect for fans and collectors alike.” Anyway, I just thought I would let you know that it is available (since most of us have been too wrapped up in the movie to think about anything else Twilight-related).

Yes, I went to the movie premiere. Read my thoughts (no spoilers… I promise).
As mentioned on the home page, I (Seth) had the incredible opportunity of attending the premiere of Twilight the movie in Los Angeles. Thank you to Stephenie for inviting me — it truly was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The after-party and movie were both fantastic. But, I wasn’t on the red carpet (when I tried to sneak on, security mentioned something about me “not being good looking enough”). If you haven’t seen pictures from the red carpet, you can see them at mtv.com, imdb.com, and about a thousand other places, and you can read a good description of the night from Larry Carroll at MTV. Tomorrow A.M.
Kind of last minute, but just a heads up. I’m going to be on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show tomorrow morning around 7ish Pacific time. This is to the best of my knowledge in this moment; something important might come up in entertainment news and then I’ll be cancelled like Matt Damon on Jimmy Kimmel, so no guarantees. I promise to do my part, i.e. set my alarm clock.
You can visit the Ryan Seacrest link here to listen live.

We are happy to announce that Stephenie has been chosen by Entertainment Weekly as one of their Entertainers of the Year! This issue will hit newsstands on Friday and you can read about it here.
In May, the best-selling author of the beloved young-adult Twilight saga published her first adult novel, The Host, which settled in on the New York Times best-seller list for 26 weeks. Before summer was out, she wrapped up the Twilight series with the polarizing finale Breaking Dawn, which has sold 2.7 million copies. After theDawn book tour, she returned home to watch the first cut of the movie adaptation of Twilight
. After her wild year, Meyer isn’t dreaming of an island vacation — just time to write. Given all the love out there for her work, that’d be a win for everyone.

The USA Weekend will have a cover, story and an exclusive poster about the Twilight
phenomenon. Also, the Twilight Soundtrack
is Billboard’s #1 best-selling album in the country this week!
“It has been confirmed today that the Twilight Soundtrack is the #1 most-selling album this week in the U.S. according to Billboard! This is a huge feat for a soundtrack BEFORE the movie has even been released, and really goes to show the passion and dedication of all you Twi-hards out there. So a huge thanks to everyone who picked up a copy, we hope you are loving it!”

We have news about ticket sales, an exclusive clip, and the Twilight Talent Tour:
Twilight Movie News (and yes, there are only 11 days left!):
For those of you who have emailed me about the Twilight Talent Tour (see October 31st post), I am very sorry. I promised to post more information, and I forgot because the information was never forwarded to me. If you are interested, click here for the complete list of locations and rules.
And that is not the only thing that I feel guilty about. Over the weekend I read several movie blogs that discussed the pre-sales of movie tickets. All of the articles that I read mentioned that a lot of showings from the opening weekend are already sold out. Sites like Fandango
and MovieTickets.com have been selling tickets for a couple of weeks and we have not made any mention of it on our site. Consider yourself warned!
And finally, in case you haven’t heard it from anyone else, there will be an exclusive clip from the movie shown during Heroes tonight on NBC. Although I haven’t heard anything about the clip, I would suggest tuning in because I think Heroes is a pretty good show.
