‘Little Ashes’ News Update: Scoop on Rob’s Character

Shannon over at the Little Ashes Promotional Blitz Project, let us know about an exclusive interview they did with actress Marina Gatell. In it, she mentions the bond between the main stars of the film, which of course include Robert Pattinson as Dali:

It was an amazing experience we all came together, the four of us, we’d all done bits but now we’re all working, I mean look at Robert. I don’t know…it was a really interesting experience. We all talked a lot, and we walked around Barcelona. I mean we were really busy but it was beautiful. Also for me, I’m from Barcelona, so it was interesting to see it through a foreigner’s eyes.

“Breakout Star”, Making An Impact

And just for a second we thought the news on Robert Pattinson was slowing down. No such thing as we look ahead to 2009. Just today he was named among The Honor Roll’s 20 people that made an impact in 2008:

Somehow Pattinson transformed a small role in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire into a role in a phenomenon of his very own, starring as Edward in Twilight and winning the hearts of every tween girl in the country. He’s already received some positive buzz for his role as Salvador Dali in Little Ashes and has several projects in development. Some of our readers may scoff his inclusion in this list, but as of publication, he’s ranked #1 on IMDB as the most searched for film entity, and that’s hard to ignore.

Meanwhile TV Guide, calls him one of the Breakout Stars of 2008:

Vampires may not have reflections, but Twilight’s Pattinson has obviously been practicing his smoldering look in the mirror for a long time.

Lots of news today.. Stay tuned.

On The ‘Little Ashes’ Front..

The Little Ashes Promotional Blitz, has a new interview with Philippa Goslett, the screenwriter of Little Ashes. She talks about Rob, and her favorite scenes of him in the film.

And in case you missed it in the middle of the Twilight haze, a few weeks back we brought you an interview with Little Ashes director Paul Morrison, who talked about Rob’s portrayal as Dali in the film.

What was the rehearsal process like?

We had two weeks for rehearsal which wasn’t bad for a movie.  I have a house in the South of France and I took Rob and Javier down, and my family was there, and they began to relate to their characters and the story.

If you want to catch up, check out his entire interview here, where he reveals a lot more about how it was like to work with Rob. Also make sure to read tMF’s first part of a four part series they are doing on Little Ashes.

Robert Pattinson was as friendly, approachable and fun to be around in our downtime as he was a true professional while on set, and his commitment to becoming Salvador Dali’ was extremely impressive - and paid off in generating a performance which I personally think is extraordinary.

And again keep checking back with us and the Little Ashes  official site, where they have the trailer you’ll want to see again. We are very excited to be counting down to the movie’s release in the U.S. March 27th, 2009.
